I stumbled across this wonderful descriptor of the Sumerian goddess Ninkasi while listening to a Splendid Table podcast: “you who fill my mouth so full.”
While she is notably embraced by the brewing community, I can’t help but feel she’s a spirit who speaks to my kitchen realm too.
