Threadless T-Shirt

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Thanks to Ted for giving me the heads up about this shirt on threadless. Its a good example of humour that exhibits itself when appropriateness is not an issue (er, or maybe its is and that’s why its funny?)!
The Know Your Meats is Kind of cute too.

This entry is part of the Food Destinations Project. Check in to see if your upcoming vacation spot is highlighted by one of our eaters!
If you were to pop into my world at the University of Oregon, these are my show-n-tell spots for some of the best eats in Eugene! Most of them are [...]

The Smell of Desire

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

Oh yeah- that’s their name: Demeter Fragrances!
This perfume compnay used to be very trendy 10 years ago or so. I remember fondly sniffing their laundry scent as well as some of their cocktail inspired scents.
They are currently heralding the 50th aniversery of Play-doh with a special release perfume.
I’m more interested in their other scents, [...]

Sweet Candy Sushi

Saturday, April 1st, 2006

How to guide now up.

The combination of sweet tidbits and fake food has long held my fascination, especially when it comes to sushi. The masterminds at Kooki-Sushi
have my everlasting respect with the production of their amazing morsals that trick the eye. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at my [...]

April Fools Food Fun

Friday, March 31st, 2006

Megan of Not Martha just posted some fabulous April Fool’s food projects up on Ready Made.
Reading over these fantastic recipes for vanilla pudding dessert pot pie and mashed potato cupcakes makes me even more sad that this sacred holiday is on a Saturday. My poor co-workers will feel so left out!
The family [...]

Eco-Bags

Friday, March 17th, 2006

My neighborhood grocery store carries many socially responsibile/ambitious items. My latest find to realize I’m fondly attached to are Eco-bags, unbleached 100% natural cotton draw-string bags. In particular I have a couple of their Produce & Grain bags floating around the kitchen. These bags are great for storing vegetables, and for use in [...]

Eugene’s Kitchen Witch

Saturday, February 25th, 2006

I’ll forever be in debt to Michelle for giving me a heads up about Kitchen Witch. First encountered at Eugene’s Holiday Market, she has found a number of local retailers to carry her chocolates during non-Market seasons.
Passion Flower started carrying Kitchen Witch chocolates a little bit before Valentine’s Day. Sundance Natural Foods also [...]

Pyramid Truffle Boxes

Wednesday, February 8th, 2006

I have a fetish for suave packaging… like many food blog readers I imagine. I tend to buy tea by its packaging, and chocolates too: with firey golden bright candy wrappers bringing out my inner crow. In combination with this packaging fetish resides a compulsion to collect beautiful papers too. Hand colored, [...]

Tip: Drinking More Water

Saturday, February 4th, 2006

I think I finally get it: what all the Southern fuss about iced tea is. When you’re busy trying to be healthy and drinking over 8 glasses of water a day, one gets a bit tired of water.  I still don’t subscribe to sweetened iced teas, but I have found a close relative…
Eugene’s downtown grocery [...]

Tea Forte Found!

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

I just found a Eugene supply for these smashingly cute tea bags… PassionFlower. I should have known that store owner Jewel Murphy would get her hands on these sooner or later.
They have a number of the tea ‘bags’ open in their store display (on a cute tree, perched as blossoms) so [...]
