Thanks for sharing that.

I'm a little put off by the "yellow snow" but am sure if I close my eyes and eat it I think it is going to taste pretty good.

i used to do this in college with Alize over snow....fewer steps, that is for sure. i like the audacity of the "yellow snow" though. this would be a good laugh to eat at a party.

Wow - I would never have thought this one up in a million years. Saffron in your snowcone? Nice touch!

P.S. LOVE the yellow snow comment above :)

What fun! Of course, I'm in Georgia and I have no snow, but the alternate ideas might work :)

Frank Zappa would approve, given his 1974 song about yellow snow. This recipe looks a little on the sweet side but maybe the lime balances it out. Can you taste the Saffron vodka? I love mango. So, once the two feet of snow disappears in Portland, do we have to go up to Mt. Hood to get snow or simply invest in one of those retro ice-shavers?! Will have to give this one a try while the snow is still here.

<blockquote>Yes and yes. It is sweet on purpose as it is cold- the colder the dessert, the harder it is for our taste buds to detect sweetness. If this were a warm drink it would need hardly any sweet to it. And yes- the saffron flavor shines through very well.

I figure ice in a blender will work when the snow is gone- or make up a simple syrup free batch and drizzle over ice cream.

cheers
