butter scented with trufflesI made myself a treat last week after my visit to the PSU farmers’ market: homemade butter layered with thin slices of truffles.

I topped the truffle butter with a piece of wax paper and stuck this in the freezer.

To use, take a warm spoon and shave off curls of the fragrant butter.

And that great label? Bought from Etsy seller Remake. There are more colors available on the site!

What a glorious treat, I love truffles especially the white ones. Unfortunately due to the price I usually settle for the truffle paste or infused oil which I love with pasta.

We make our own butter now from the raw milk we get and we have started experimenting with making herb butter which is not as tasty but better priced.

How long do you think it will hold up in the freezer? I’m trying to decide how much to make…

Thanks!

If you rinse your homemade butter well and press all of the water out- I would say pretty darn long…
a year? Make sure to protect it from oxygen and freezer burn by wrapping it well.

Those labels are adorable! Just the right kind of pomp for truffle butter. I won’t be having truffle butter any time soon, but I might need to get some of those anyway. Yet another thing to feed my Etsy addiction.
