As seen in the cafeteria at my workplace, on a sign hanging above one of the stations:
Menutainment
Not written as foodtainment, perhaps this word is in regards to entertaining the fantasy of the written food word?
Example:
In a frenzy of menutainment, she was distracted from ordering the salad she had so dutifully maintained was her dinner. Her cheeks blushed in guilty excitement at the delivery of a glistening rack of ribs, steaming the table with their molasses perfume. Score: menutainment = 1, salad duties = 0.
Can you use menutainment in a sentence?
Link Fun: Blogs that Corroborate Menutainment
- Less Than, wok and roll: People wait in line for twenty to thirty minutes while the other less exciting stations like “Menutainment” sit vacant and lonely. You just cannot make these things up…
- meal hall review, February 14th Preview: I knew it was a dream because instead of the stir-fry menutainment station, I was at the 2004 Olympics in Athens Greece…
- jackleg’s lj, this is relevant I think: Subject: The train wreck that is dining services. To whom it may concern…
- literary giant’s lj, just here for the food: If to “cup” a body part is to gently cradle it from beneath with the palm of one hand, it would seem that I now need to “saucepan” or “popcorn bowl” my stomach to give it full support. My lower back, following suit, insists on shaping the bottom of t-shirts in its image, the way one would expect chests and shoulders to.
“How can you be getting fat?” asked Andrew Nico, senior literature, attempting to discredit my whines. “The food here sucks.”

As she walked smartly down the sidewalk enjoying the clicking of her shinny new red, sling back high heels and feeling the smooth silk of her dress hugging her curvaceous body, she knew she had men-utainment. Just to make sure she took a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure the small gathering crowd was still following and admiring.
Ha ha! Nice!
