Grocery Store Cheaters

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

from the quirkology files reported in New Scientist.

A nine year long sociology study concludes that 80% of express aisle grocery store cheaters (those who have more than 10 items in the express aisle) are female van drivers.

This coincides with studies showing that female van drivers are more likely to frequently drive over the speed limit.

I wonder if these same drivers are responsible for grocery store rage as well?

Hey McAuliflower, remember I wanted to get a bumper sticker that read, “just because I drive a van doesn’t mean I’m slow!”. I never did cheat in grocery store lines though, even if I did drive a van. I am guilty of accusing certain “grocery store cart pushers” of driving the same way they push their carts, oblivious to any one else…

I think maybe driving a van is a gateway drug- given time it can lead to those ore ominous things like grocery store cheating! See- good thing you don’t have Fred (our van) any more, otherwise we would be getting calls to come bail you out! :)
