Hot Apple Pie Shots: SHF17

Hot Apple Pie ShotApple pie is one of those desserts I eat for the ice cream. Fortunately for me, this month’s Sugar High Friday theme of dairy lets me wallow in that desire.

I happen to be home sick and need something that can shoot through my stuffiness. I think my whipped cream dispenser and Sweet’s jug of apple cider can help me with that…

Hot Apple Pie Shots

Hot Apple Pie Shot

In a pyrex measuring cup pour 3/4 cup of apple cider. Heat in the microwave till nice and steamy hot. Stir in 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract, one pinch of cinnamon, and 1/4 cup of rum.

Pour into a shot class 3/4 of the way full. Top with sweetened whipped cream and dust with cinnamon.

Serve immediately.

Makes 5-6 shots.

yum. I was planning on making them last year for Thanksgiving (I’m away from home for all holidays due to school….so my Thanksgivings are me and my pooch)….but I never made them because I wasn’t sure if they’d be any good. Seeing that picture mmm….makes me want to have Thanksgiving in March. hehehe

Reminds me a bit of a simplified wassail. Very nice for lazy winter nights.

Lovely! I would like to “wallow” in this dessert as well … I think apple and ice cream is one of my very favourite flavour combinations!

Well done!

My liqueur version of the apple pie shot was discovered at a bar somewhere in BC.
Take Sour apple schnapps, butterscotch schnapps, and finely ground cinnamon. Fill a shot glass about 3/4th full of the sour apple, top it off with the butterscotch, dust with cinnamon, and then toss it back. It is quite tasty, though I think I shall try your version soon.

Ooo butterscotch! This sounds great. Thanks for sharing Auctoritas.

For an surprisingly amazing Cold Apple Pie Shot do as follows: Fill one sports drink bottle with apple juice, one sports drink bottle with Vodka, buy a can of Aerosol style “Whipped Topping”, and a shaker of cinnamon. Have the shot taker sit in a chair and lean head back. First, squirt a bit of apple juice, follow this with a lesser bit of vodka, quickly shoot a little Whipped Topping in and a dash of cinnamon. Have them shake it about and swallow….mmmm…apple pie! It’s very good and great for entertaining.

Sounds delicious! My only concern is the “serve immediately” part. How hot is this straight out of the microwave?

That is a candle holder, not a shot glass. Get a real shot glass next time please. Much more appealing.

There are some strategies to prevent this particular fate, including proper timing of Taunt minions, recovering impacts, as well as purely keeping board controls before Doomhammer is starred, but there is often just little you could do. Moreover, Lava Shock allows the normally Overloaded move to be used unhampered.
