so was this a biker’s only cook-off or what?

Bikers, partners, and friends, all associated with a NorthWest riding group that corresponds on an email list called Wet Leather (refering to the rain up here). Every year they have a Cook Off in Vancouver as well as a number of other locale specific events for everyone to get together and remember what we all look like in person.
We have a member of two who ride up from San Francisco every year… if you want an invite

Nope… I didn’t leave anything out.

I had one problem with the cheesecake. Most of the candy topping had slid down the sides by the time it was served. It may have been caused by transporting the cake on the back of a Harley, but you never know.

Next time, I’ll build a “dam” of chopped hazelnut around the outside edge of the cake. A little extra cooling time in the fridge would also help keep the sugar in place.

thanks Steve! This was such a great combination of flavors. I wouldn’t have thought about combining pomegranate with hazlenuts before this, but they made an exquisite pair.
