Martha’s Pie TV

Tuesday, March 8, 2005

I had the most odd Martha Stewart dream last night. I don’t usually dream about food or food related things, which is too bad… I think a cooking or eating dream would be fantastic! Talk about an interesting diet: the lucid dream diet?

I was watching a live taping of Martha Stewart’s tv show and very excited as this was her first show since being released from prison. My attention was focused on the large screen displaying the broadcast version of the show, though I was in the audience. Martha was wheeled into the studio, being that a condition of her house arrest was her confinment to a board just like Hannible Lecter in Silence of the Lambs. Her arms were wrapped around her torso in a straight-jacket, almost looking like a cocoon. Fortunately she didn’t have to wear the face mask contraption.

Martha’s show consisted of her giving a very passioned monologue of how much she loved pies. Cakes were ok, but pie was where it was at. The image on the large screen was a tight shot of her face, with just a bit of the board she was strapped to showing around her head, like a glowing pressboard halo. Her face was frozen in a wide grin, as she proceeded to list every pie flavor she could think of. I silently spoke my favorite pies to myself not daring to call out the flavors she was overlooking.

Grasshopper Pie…
Peanutbutter Pie…
oh, even better: PeanutbutterFudge Pie…
“Boston Cream Pie” Martha chimed in,
Coconut Cream Pie…
“Peanutbutter Banana Pie” I heard her say as I drifted out.

Scary dream, but watching a taping sounds fun. How did you get tickets? Was it worth going?
